We are proud parents of two daughters, and grandparents to our grandson. I graduated from Excelsior High, hold a BA in Economics (CSU, Long Beach) and a MS in Educational Administration (CSU, Fullerton). I recently retired in 2024 after 30 years as a high school educator, serving primarily in the Norwalk La Mirada USD. I had the honor of serving as a NLMUSD School Board Member (l995-2004) and a Norwalk City Council Member (2011-2020). Now, as Norwalk navigates critical new developments and economic shifts, I am stepping forward to bring proven, trusted leadership to City Hall.

A city council member's primary responsibility is to hold the city manager accountable to implement the council's policy decisions. My policy priorities for Norwalk include: enhancing safety, being prudent with your tax dollars, maintaining quality city services, improving communication, and creating the conditions for economic prosperity.

Effective leadership requires standing for your values, listening to every perspective, and always doing what is best for the city. I will always be prepared, treat you with respect, and never take you for granted.

I respectfully ask for your vote.

Leonard Shryock
562-754-4926

","editTs":"2026-09-29T20:21:26.481648","language":"EN","status":4,"contestId":10494,"electionId":4348,"candidateId":26498,"publishedBy":69,"statementId":60730,"createdBy":69,"lastChangeBy":69,"publicCandidate":null}]
