I am the only candidate born, raised, and a lifelong resident of Huntington Park. I attended Miles Avenue Elementary, Gage Middle School, and Huntington Park High School. For over 20 years, I have served our community's children and families through LAUSD. I earned a Bachelor's degree from University of California, Los Angeles, a Master's degree from Cal State University, Long Beach, and a Doctorate from Cal State University, Fullerton.
When you previously elected me to the Huntington Park City Council, I:
- Got the City out of debt; balanced every budget
- Expanded park programs, including basketball, baseball, and softball.
- Helped bring Target, Farmer Boys, Raising Cane's, Smart & Final, CVS, and Ross.
- Increased programs for seniors and students.
- Provided free monthly food for seniors and families.
- Funded summer tutoring for Huntington Park children.
- Increased public safety and reduced crime.
- Secured $200 monthly for 12 months for over 1,000 senior citizens.
- Created the City's First-Time Homebuyer Program with down-payment assistance.
I'm running again because the current council majority has cut senior services, park and food programs, and public safety while giving the City Manager authority to spend up to $100,000 without City Council approval or public transparency. I will fight for our families and restore the programs our community deserves.
